An intensive two-day Final FRCA Viva Revision Course designed to prepare you for the final FRCA viva. To ensure intensive and focused support for candidates, we have a maximum of 12 places available.
The course will be taught and mock examined by Oxford Deanery Consultants and senior Registrars.

The course is run on a biannual basis, in May and November (a few weeks before the RCoA examinations in June and December).

Course Content and Format
Day 1: Basic sciences viva practice
Day 1 focuses on small group viva practice sessions covering the following;
- Physiology, Pharmacology, Physics/Equipment and Anatomy topics;
- Interpretation of investigations (covering Radiology, ECGs, CPEX, sleep studies and pulmonary function tests); and
- Presenting clinical cases.
The course will also focus on areas of the exam that candidates typically find more challenging.
Day 2: All day viva practice under mock RCoA conditions
Day 2 is a formal viva day, designed to reproduce the college viva exam conditions. Each candidate will sit:
- 6 full basic science vivas
- 6 clinical vivas
You will have a mentor to support you during the course. Also, after the course in the run up to the exam, we offer candidates the opportunity to contact us with any questions/uncertainties they have regarding the viva.
